Contact SoloPro to obtain an information guide which provides all the information you will need to schedule and hold a SoloPro Driving School in your region.
Q. I would like to attend a SoloPro Driving School but can't find one in my area. What can I do?
A. Contact the closest sports car club and ask them to contact us. We will then provide the club with information on scheduling a school close to you. If you do not know of any clubs in your region, don't hesitate to contact us.
Q. Do I need to take the Intro class before the Comp class?
A. Not necessarily. The Intro class is strongly recommended (but not required) to get the most out of the Comp class. However, if you have had professional instruction in the past and are well versed in the basics, you could jump straight into the Comp class.
Q. Do I need to take the Intro and Comp classes prior to the Extreme?
A. We will allow drivers to take the Extreme class without the other schools as a prerequisite. However, because of the advanced nature of the Extreme class most novice drivers would benefit much more from taking the Intro/Comp classes prior to taking the Extreme class. Therefore, it is STRONGLY recommended that most drivers take the Foundation Series classes before taking the Extreme.
Q. How much will I spend on a SoloPro class?
A. Typically, the tuitions will be less than the cost of one race tire. We are trying to make the classes as affordable as possible. Tuitions may vary slightly as some venues are simply more expensive to operate while others are relatively inexpensive. Bottom line: SoloPro is determined to make each class the best "bang for your buck" in the country.
Q. What type of car can I use at the school?
A. Almost any type of vehicle is acceptable with the exception of SUVs, vans, and other high center of gravity vehicles. It must be noted that all vehicles will be required to pass a technical inspection and/or complete a pre-event vehicle safety checklist.
Q. Do I need race tires on my car to get the most out of the school(s)?
A. Absolutely not. Actually, we feel it may be MORE beneficial to run on "street" tires as they magnify miscues. Afterall, you'll be taking the school to learn from your mistakes! Regardless of which tire type you opt for, the tires you have on the car must be in very good condition to withstand the number of runs you'll be getting at the school(s).
Q. What do I need to bring to the school?
A. After you register for a school, you will be supplied with a checklist of items that are either recommended or required.
Q. Do I need to have a driver's license?
A. Yes, that is a requirement.
Q. How large are the classes and how many instructors would we have?
A. Typically the class size is limited to 12 - with two instructors. The Extreme is usually limited to 8 but we may allow 10 students at some venues. Bottomline: We try to maintain a low student/instructor ratio (4:1 to 6:1) for all classes. It should be noted that we may hold some classes where 3 or 4 instructors will be teaching, thereby increasing the class size to 18 or more.
If you have other questions, please contact us and we'll be glad to provide the information you need.
